Apogee Entertainment and Trigger Happy Interactive teased late last year that their game "Total Chaos" would be getting a New Game Plus update. We now know that this free update will be released on March 2.
In a message from Apogee Entertainment, the team set the terrifying stage for what players can expect:
“Unlockable after completing the game, New Game+ reimagines the first seven chapters of Total Chaos, twisting familiar locations into far more hostile gauntlets and culminating in a brand new final chapter: Chapter 8 – Reckoning. Each existing chapter begins with a warning: something has been unleashed. Once The Hunter finds his target, there is no way to stop him. Survival depends on speed, awareness, and decision-making under pressure.”
In addition to this unkillable Hunter, regular enemies will be more aggressive and resources will be scarcer. The original mode was already unforgiving. This new mode aims to be outright punishing.
This is not your typical New Game Plus. Expect narrative changes, new enemies, new locations, and a new ending. I have a feeling we are not ready.
We gave "Total Chaos" a 3 out of 5 for being slightly flawed but ultimately an unsettling, atmospheric experience. We are very curious to see how this new mode enhances the overall package. I personally cannot wait to dive back into the horrors of Fort Oasis and test my nerves against The Hunter.
