Thrash Titans SLAYER Announce Shows For 40th Anniversary Of "REIN IN BLOOD"

Written by: Luis Vox

Attention thrash metal maniacs!

One of the Big Four Of Thrash Metal has just issued a call to arms.

FUCKING SLAYER is playing headlining shows.*

That’s right. One of the most influential bands in metal history announced today they’re adding two dates to their 2026 calendar, and these are not festival slots. These are full, standalone headline shows.

2026 marks the 40th anniversary of the landmark album Reign in Blood, and Slayer will be performing the record in its entirety. Each show comes stacked with its own lineup of support, and we have a feeling things are gonna get brutal at these gigs.

First up, September 4 at Mystic Lake Amphitheater in Minnesota with Down, Suicidal Tendencies, and Hatebreed. Then, after their festival appearances, Slayer heads home for a November 13 (YEAH, FRIDAY THE 13TH) show at the Forum with Cannibal Corpse, Cavalera performing Chaos A.D., and Crowbar.

"Reign in Blood" is widely considered one of the most important records in thrash metal history, often mentioned in the same breath as "Master of Puppets". Tracks like “Angel of Death”, "Postmortem", and "Criminally Insane" didn’t just define a band, they helped define an entire genre.

Tickets go on sale Friday, April 24 at 10 AM local time.

About Reign in Blood

Slayer’s third studio album, Reign in Blood, was released on October 20, 1986. The record was originally slated to arrive earlier but faced delays due to label concerns surrounding the opening track, “Angel of Death,” which references Josef Mengele and the human experimentation he carried out in Nazi concentration camps.
