"The Witcher: The Last Wish" Gets Massive Deluxe Graphic Novel Collection From Dark Horse Comics

For horror fans, dark fantasy often scratches the same itch when it comes to the fantastical and spooky. Monsters lurk in the shadows, humanity proves just as dangerous as the creatures stalking the wilderness, and moral ambiguity reigns supreme. Few modern fantasy franchises embody those themes better than The Witcher, and now Dark Horse Comics is preparing the ultimate collection of Geralt of Rivia's earliest adventures.

Dark Horse Comics, in collaboration with CD PROJEKT RED, has announced Andrzej Sapkowski's The Witcher: The Last Wish—Complete Collection, an oversized hardcover that gathers all six graphic novel adaptations of Geralt's original adventures into one massive volume.

The collection also includes something entirely new for longtime fans: a never-before-published adaptation of the framing story, The Voice of Reason, which ties the anthology together and provides additional insight into the legendary monster hunter.

Printed on silver foil-gilded pages and bound in a foil-stamped oversized hardcover, the collection features a brand-new cover by artist Kai Carpenter and a foreword by fantasy author Peter V. Brett.

Inside, readers will find adaptations crafted by writers Jacek Rembiś, Magdalena Salik, Marta Krajewska, Aleksandra Zielińska, Marcin Zwierzchowski, and Milena Zając. Artwork throughout the collection is provided by Jonas Scharf, Adam Gorham, Tommaso Bennato, Matteo Bellisario, Michael Dowling, Guillermo Fajardo, and Fabiana Mascolo, with colors by José Villarrubia, Patricio Delpeche, Chris O'Halloran, Igor Monti, Luis NCT, and Neeraj Menon.

Bundled inside the collection are the graphic novel adaptations of:

  • The Witcher

  • A Grain of Truth

  • The Lesser Evil

  • A Question of Price

  • The Edge of the World

  • The Last Wish

Fans of Netflix's The Witcher may recognize several of the stories collected in this deluxe edition. Much of the show's first season adapted material from The Last Wish, including "The Lesser Evil" (adapted in Episode 1, "The End's Beginning"), "The Edge of the World" (Episode 2, "Four Marks"), "The Witcher" (Episode 3, "Betrayer Moon"), "A Question of Price" (Episode 4, "Of Banquets, Bastards and Burials"), and "The Last Wish" itself (Episode 5, "Bottled Appetites"). Meanwhile, "A Grain of Truth" was adapted as the opening episode of Season 2. So you're going to have a lot of fun seeing where the show differs from the source material. We love doing this.

Readers will also find a cover gallery, sketchbook section, ribbon bookmark, and the new adaptation of The Voice of Reason.

“It is uncertain if The Voice of Reason is a glue between the stories, or if it is the stories that make The Voice of Reason a whole. It serves an insight on Geralt and his place in the world as a witcher, giving more background to his complex character. But for me, it's also a reminder of the importance of therapy — a break to reflect on what we're going through. Between hunting evil and filth, this professional monster slayer also experiences moments of contemplation. That's why it's an inseparable part of The Complete Collection,” said Milena Zając, Editor/Writer at CD PROJEKT RED.

Marcin Zwierzchowski, Senior Editor/Writer at CD PROJEKT RED, also reflected on adapting Sapkowski's beloved stories for comics.

“Andrzej Sapkowski’s The Witcher short stories are masterpieces of fantasy short fiction. Every single one of them is a masterclass in character creation, subtle worldbuilding, and efficient prose. To be able to adapt them for a comic book medium, and see Geralt, Yennefer, Dandelion and others take shape with help of talented artists, is an honor and a dream come true,” said Zwierzchowski.

For longtime Witcher fans, The Last Wish remains one of the most beloved entries in the entire saga. Long before Geralt became a household name through video games and streaming adaptations, these short stories introduced readers to a brutal world filled with monsters, curses, moral dilemmas, and the kind of grim fairy-tale atmosphere that helped define dark fantasy for an entire generation.

Andrzej Sapkowski's The Witcher: The Last Wish—Complete Collection arrives in bookstores and comic shops on December 15, 2026.

The expanded 384-page hardcover carries a retail price of $124.99 and is available for pre-order now.
