The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 3 Trailer Proves the Undead Franchise Refuses to Stay Buried
Love it or hate it, you can't kill The Walking Dead.
Years after the flagship series shuffled off into television history, AMC is still finding new ways to keep Robert Kirkman's zombie apocalypse alive. While many franchises would have long since run out of steam, The Walking Dead Universe continues to expand, proving that its fanbase remains every bit as hungry as the walkers themselves.
Now AMC has dropped the first trailer for The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 3, and it looks like Maggie and Negan are once again trying to do the impossible: build something worth saving in a world that has spent years tearing itself apart.
Season 3 premieres on July 26, 2026, bringing viewers back to the crumbling streets of Manhattan, where survival is no longer the only goal.

According to the official synopsis, Maggie and Negan finally put their differences aside to establish the first thriving community New York City has seen since the apocalypse. Of course, this being The Walking Dead, peace never lasts for long. As chaos begins to spread throughout the city, both characters are forced to confront a question that has haunted them for years: have they truly moved beyond the scars of their past, or are they destined to repeat the same mistakes that helped create them?

Fan favorites Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Lauren Cohan return alongside Gaius Charles, Lisa Emery, Logan Kim, Keir Gilchrist, Aimee Garcia, Jimmi Simpson, and Michael Emery.
Horror fans may also recognize Raúl Castillo, who recently appeared in Smile 2 and Army of the Dead. Castillo joins the cast for Season 3 as AMC continues to add fresh blood to its long running zombie saga.
Behind the scenes, Seth Hoffman, whose credits include The Walking Dead and Prison Break, steps in as showrunner. Executive producers include Scott M. Gimple, Lauren Cohan, Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Brian Bockrath, and Colin Walsh.
At this point, it's clear that AMC has no intention of letting this franchise rot. More than fifteen years after walkers first staggered onto television screens, audiences are still showing up, and AMC is still building new stories from the world Kirkman created.
