Chill Out, Dickwad. There's Still Time to Get Tickets to Judgment Day.

Relax. Skynet hasn't launched the nukes...yet.

You've still got time to celebrate Judgment Day, and we're not talking about the end of humanity. We're talking about James Cameron's Terminator 2: Judgment Day, which is returning to theaters this August to celebrate its 35th anniversary.

After a limited theatrical run earlier this year, one of the greatest action films ever made is heading back to the big screen in 4K, RealD 3D, and premium formats beginning Aug. 28, with screenings running through Sept. 2 in the United States. The worldwide rollout is timed to coincide with the film's infamous Judgment Day date of Aug. 29.

Let's be honest. If there was ever a movie that deserved to be experienced in a theater, it's this one.

Arnold Schwarzenegger, Linda Hamilton, Edward Furlong, and Robert Patrick delivered what many still consider the gold standard for action sequels. Released in 1991, Terminator 2 raised the bar for visual effects, practical stunts, and blockbuster filmmaking, earning four Academy Awards while introducing audiences to one of cinema's most terrifying villains in the liquid metal T-1000.

Thirty five years later, the film hasn't lost a step.

James Cameron believes the theatrical experience is still the best way to revisit the classic.

"T2 was made for theatres, and our lovingly-prepared 3D version, coming back to the big screen, is the absolute best way to see the film. I believe it's safe to do spoilers after 35 years, so SPOILER ALERT: the good guys win against the AI superintelligence! And maybe that's a message of hope we all could use this summer."

The anniversary release is being presented by STUDIOCANAL, Fathom Entertainment, and Rialto Pictures, with screenings scheduled around the globe.

Anna Marsh, CEO of STUDIOCANAL and Chief Content Officer of CANAL+, celebrated the worldwide event.

"We are incredibly proud to mark the 35th anniversary of James Cameron's masterpiece Terminator 2: Judgment Day in partnership with the passionate teams at Fathom Entertainment and Rialto Pictures in the US. This collaboration has been thrilling, and we cannot wait for audiences to mark Judgment Day in theatres all over the world this August. The continued restoration and discovery of classic and revolutionary cinema is the cornerstone of our strategy and it's particularly gratifying to see the scale of this celebratory re-release come to fruition."

Ray Nutt, CEO of Fathom Entertainment, echoed that excitement.

"Terminator 2: Judgment Day was a cultural phenomenon in the U.S. upon release and 35 years later, remains a timeless, non-stop thrill ride that audiences, new and old, will love to see. With non-stop action, iconic performances from Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton, spectacular sound and visual effects, and even a massive hit song by Guns N' Roses ('You Could Be Mine'), the re-release of T2 is a must-see theatrical event perfect for 3D and other premium formats."

Until then...
