Production Starts And First Logo Design Revealed For "EVIL DEAD WRATH"

Written by: Sam Santiago

Over the weekend, we received some small, albeit awesome news that the next installment of the Evil Dead franchise, Evil Dead: Wrath, has officially begun production, as well as dropped the first look at the new logo.

The project will be both written and helmed by Francis Galluppi, the filmmaker who gained attention with his 2023 desert-set thriller "The Last Stop in Yuma County". Now he steps into a world of chainsaws, ancient evil, and relentless carnage as the series continues to evolve beyond its original roots in the cabin in the woods.

Cameras are rolling even as the previous installment prepares for its theatrical rollout later this summer, proving that the franchise has no intention of slowing down. Instead, it appears determined to carve out fresh stories within the same blood-drenched universe.

The cast brings together a mix of familiar faces and rising talent. The ensemble features Charlotte Hope, known for "The Nun", Jessica McNamee from the "Mortal Kombat" franchise, Zach Gilford of "Midnight Mass", Josh Helman from "Mad Max: Fury Road", Ella Newton of "Dangerous Animals", Australian newcomer Ella Oliphant, and Elizabeth Cullen of "Goolagong". Together, they are expected to anchor a new nightmare as the Deadites find fresh victims, but lets be real, we all want them to suffer unimaginable deaths for our ammusment like so many in the Evil Dead franchise have done before.

Behind the scenes, longtime franchise producer Rob Tapert returns alongside series creator Sam Raimi. Executive producers include Romel Adam, Jose Cañas, and Lee Cronin, who previously directed "Evil Dead Rise". Bruce Campbell, forever linked to the franchise through his portrayal of Ash, is also attached as an executive producer.

Speaking of Campbell, rumors continue to swirl that Campbell may step back into Ash’s boots once more. While nothing has been confirmed, talk of his possible return in "Evil Dead Wrath" has sparked serious excitement among longtime fans who thought they had seen the last of the chainsaw-handed hero.

Story details are being kept tightly under wraps, but early hints suggest the film will follow a brand new group of characters who find themselves facing the ancient evil unleashed by the Necronomicon. As always, curiosity and bad decisions are likely to open the door to unspeakable horrors and insurmountable terror...just the way we like it.

With production in full swing and the creative team locked in, "Evil Dead Wrath" looks poised to continue the franchise’s legacy of relentless terror, dark humor, and unapologetic gore.

If the past is any indication, this next chapter will not be pulling its punches.
