Latest "Faces of Death" Red Band Trailer Goes All In On Modern Shock Horror

Written by: Sam Santiago

The new red band trailer for the "Faces of Death" remake isn’t holding back. It takes the 1978 film’s reputation and drops it straight into today’s content-driven mess, where people will watch just about anything if it’s shocking enough. We're telling y'all... it's turning into a modern-day WALL-E out there, just you wait and see. Anyway, Dacre Montgomery steps in with a cold reminder of how this machine works, delivering a line that feels less like dialogue and more like a threat. Give people what they want. No matter the cost.

He’s joined by Barbie Ferreira, Josie Totah, Aaron Holliday, Jermaine Fowler, and Charli XCX, rounding out a cast that’s about to get swallowed whole by something far uglier than viral fame.

This time around, the story follows a content moderator working for a massive video platform. Day after day, she filters through humanity at its worst until something hits different. Clips that look staged. Too precise. Too familiar. Recreations of killings tied to Faces of Death.

Or at least that’s what they’re supposed to be.

Because the deeper she digs, the harder it becomes to tell what’s fake and what’s happening right now. In a space where everything is manufactured, the real horror might be that none of it is.

Directed by Daniel Goldhaber, who co wrote the script with Isa Mazzei, the film leans into the same question that made the original notorious, then twists it for an era that’s already desensitized to everything.

Shot in 2023 and slapped with an R rating for just about everything you’d expect, this one isn’t playing it safe.

Tickets are on sale now ahead of its April 10 release through Independent Film Company and Shudder.

Just don’t expect to feel clean after.
