James Gunn’s Cult Horror-Comedy "SLITHER" Hits 20th Anniversary With Special Steelbook And 4K Re-Release

Things are about to get gross, in 4k! That's right folks, before he was messing around with superheroes and people arguing over Batman, James Gunn was a horror nerd, hell, he might still be but one of his first films was a little flick called "SLITHER" and now it's making its way to 4k UHD from our friends over at Visions Home Video. If that wasn't enough, the film will hit theaters once again beginning on April 10th! Talk about a great way to celebrate a gross out sc-ifi horror comedy.

Visions Home Video is thrilled to mark 20 years of James Gunn’s cult horror-comedy Slither! To celebrate, the film will receive a limited theatrical re-release starting April 10th. Following that, Slither will be available on 4K Digital Download from May 1st, with special limited edition 4K HDR Steelbooks arriving on May 18th.

Available on 4K for the first time, Gunn’s cult classic follows an extraterrestrial parasite that begins infecting a small town, threatening to consume all life on Earth, leaving the town sheriff (Nathan Fillion) and a local woman (Elizabeth Banks) to stop the menace. The film has been restored from the 35mm Interpositive, with approval from Writer-Director James Gunn and Director of Photography Gregory Middleton.
