Universal Orlando has officially revealed Downtown Clowntown, a brand-new scare zone for Halloween Horror Nights 35, and it's bringing together some of the biggest names in clown horror. Now this is only taking place at the Orlando park; don't start spouting off to John Murdy over here at Universal Hollywood about this.
Leading the charge are the Killer Klowns from Outer Space, who are making their return to Halloween Horror Nights after previously appearing as a scare zone in 2018 and receiving their own haunted house in 2019. The use of the Chiodo's Brother's creation has been sort of a mainstay at HHN in recent years, people have been wanting them back for sometime now and we're happy to see them return.
This time, however, they won't be causing chaos alone.
Joining them is Art the Clown from the Terrifier franchise, along with a twisted collection of clownfolk ready to turn the streets of Universal Studios Florida into every coulrophobe's worst nightmare.
Universal describes Downtown Clowntown as:
"The city that never sleeps becomes a waking nightmare when it's overrun by Killer Klowns from Outer Space, Art the Clown and other clownsfolk who can't wait to tear you limb from limb."
Art the Clown is no stranger to Halloween Horror Nights, either. After receiving his own Terrifier haunted house in 2025 and stalking guests throughout Universal Studios Florida during the event, the fan favorite slasher is back for another season of mayhem. He'll also be joined by returning HHN icon Jack the Clown, who has already been announced as one of this year's Ringmasters.
With Downtown Clowntown, Universal is leaning heavily into one of horror's most beloved fears, proving once again that clowns remain one of the event's biggest crowd pleasers.
Halloween Horror Nights 35 kicks off Aug. 28 at Universal Orlando Resort and runs on select nights through Nov. 1. This year's event will feature 10 haunted houses, multiple scare zones, live entertainment, and plenty of opportunities to come face to face with some of horror's most recognizable icons.
