Second Sight Films is bringing some serious bite to home media this spring, officially announcing "The Ginger Snaps Trilogy Standard Edition Blu-ray", set for release on May 25th 2026. The cult-favourite series, long celebrated for its feral take on coming-of-age horror, is finally getting the spotlight it deserves. This one will grab ya by the throat and never let go.

Directed by John Fawcett (Orphan Black, Saving Hope), "Ginger Snaps" carved out its place as a landmark in feminist horror, blending body horror, sisterhood, and savage transformation into something that still feels raw decades later.
The original film drops us into the sleepy Canadian suburb of Bailey Downs, where death starts circling a little too close to home. Social outcasts Brigitte (Emily Perkins, Supernatural) and Ginger (Katharine Isabelle, Freddy vs. Jason) Fitzgerald share a fascination with mortality, but things take a violent turn when Ginger is attacked by a mysterious creature on the night of her first period. She survives, but something isn’t right. What follows is a gnarly descent into transformation, appetite, and loss of control.
With only 28 days to stop what’s coming, Brigitte is forced into a race against time to save her sister before the change becomes permanent, or worse, contagious.

"Ginger Snaps 2: Unleashed", directed by Brett Sullivan, pushes Brigitte deeper into the nightmare as she struggles with her own infection while trapped in a rehab facility. Paranoia ramps up quickly as she tries to figure out who to trust, all while being hunted by a far more aggressive werewolf. The sequel also features Tatiana Maslany (She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Orphan Black) and Eric Johnson (Smallville, Fifty Shades Darker).

Rounding out the trilogy, "Ginger Snaps Back: The Beginning", directed by Grant Harvey, rewinds the bloodline to 19th-century Canada, where the Fitzgerald ancestors face suspicion, violence, and a growing werewolf threat from all sides. It is survival horror with a historical bite, as the sisters confront both human cruelty and something far more primal.
Because this is Second Sight Films, the release is stacked with special features that go far beyond a simple rewatch.
