Fairy tales have always had a dark side. Whether that be the Grimm stories or others, fairy tales always seem to have a bit more edge than presented to kids than we let on. "EVER AFTER" is about to make sure audiences never look at them the same way again and we're totally seated for it.
Level 33 Entertainment has acquired the North American distribution rights to the upcoming horror film, bringing writer and director Laszlo Illes' twisted reimagining of classic storybook characters to theaters across the United States and Canada on September 4.
FROM THE PRESS RELEASE: What begins as a bachelorette weekend in a secluded forest soon spirals into a waking nightmare when a group of friends discovers they're not alone in the woods. Lurking in the shadows are murderous fanatics who believe they are the heroes and villains of the fairy tales we all grew up with.
Little Red Riding Hood.
The Big Bad Wolf.
The Evil Witch.
Prince Charming.
Only this time, they aren't interested in happily ever after.
Instead, the group finds themselves trapped in a brutal fight for survival as familiar childhood characters are transformed into relentless killers, turning bedtime stories into a blood-soaked nightmare.

Leading the film is an impressive lineup of horror and genre icons, including Mark Sheppard (Supernatural), Bonnie Aarons (The Nun), Michael Berryman (The Hills Have Eyes), Kane Hodder (Friday the 13th) and Malcolm McDowell (A Clockwork Orange). Seeing all five share the screen is reason enough for horror fans to take notice.
Illes said working alongside the legendary cast was something he had dreamed about for years.
"As a lifelong horror fan, working with Mark Sheppard, Bonnie Aarons, Michael Berryman, Kane Hodder and Malcolm McDowell was something I could only dream about for many years. Watching these incredible actors bring our twisted fairy tale world to life was an unforgettable experience and one of the greatest highlights of my career."
The filmmaker added that each actor fully embraced their role and expressed hope audiences enjoy the film's "dark and unpredictable journey" as much as the cast and crew enjoyed bringing it to life.
Level 33 Entertainment President and CEO Andreas Olavarria believes the film offers something horror fans haven't seen before.
"Ever After immediately stood out as a bold and imaginative horror film with an outstanding cast of genre favorites. It takes familiar fairy tale characters and transforms them into unforgettable nightmares while delivering exactly the kind of thrilling theatrical experience horror audiences love."
