Let’s be honest from the start: when Jennifer’s Body came out, it tanked at the box office and didn’t win over many horror fans. At the time, a lot of people saw it as just another studio attempt to shove the so-called “it girl” down our throats—yes, we mean Megan Fox—after everyone had swooned over her hanging out with Shia and some robots in Transformers.
Fast forward a few years and Jennifer's Body has a huge cult following in the horror community and fans have been eager for a sequel ever since they saw the ending where Amanda Seyfried gives those douchey emo cucks what they deserve...(sorry for the spoilers but it's been years since it came out, deal with it.)
Now it looks like the nightmare we’ve been waiting for might actually happen. Director Karyn Kusama recently revealed that Diablo Cody is actively working on the script, promising it’s shaping up to be just as wild and chaotic as the first movie. “I know some of the bones of it, so I’m not going to give anything away, but it sounds fun and crazy like the first film,” Kusama told Deadline.

Even better, Cody confirmed via Dread Central that both Megan Fox and Amanda Seyfried are interested in reprising their roles as Jennifer and Needy. That’s right: the original chaos duo could be coming back, ready to dish out the same twisted, bloody justice that turned the first film into a cult classic. Now this is just what we are hearing from those who seem to be in the know so we will report back with any news once we get it.
For horror fans who finally get that Jennifer’s Body was misunderstood and underappreciated the first time around, this sequel news is everything we’ve been dying to hear. With Cody back at the helm and Fox and Seyfried returning, it’s looking like the next chapter will be as funny, brutal, and gloriously twisted as we always imagined. Here's hoping.
