Dark Sky Films Releasing "WHO'S WATCHING" Starring Zachary Ray Sherman Arrives September 2026 [TRAILER]

Dark Sky Films is preparing to unleash a new descent into paranoia and obsession with WHO’S WATCHING, a psychological horror thriller arriving in select theaters and on digital platforms across the United States on September 18, 2026.

Written and directed by acclaimed songwriter, musician, and filmmaker Tim Kasher, the film marks the latest feature from the frontman of influential indie rock bands Cursive and The Good Life. Known for his emotionally raw storytelling and deeply personal approach to his music, Kasher brings that same confessional style to the horror genre, crafting a disturbing exploration of surveillance, fixation, and the dangerous space between reality and obsession.

Before its digital release, WHO’S WATCHING will hit the road with a nationwide theatrical preview tour featuring special advance screenings, followed by live acoustic performances and Q&A sessions with Kasher himself.

The film stars Zachary Ray Sherman (A Desert, Under the Banner of Heaven), whose performance earned him the Best Actor Award at the Brooklyn Horror Film Festival, alongside Gracie Gillam (Superhost, Fright Night, Teen Beach Movie), Olivia Luccardi (It Follows, Soft & Quiet, The Baltimorons), and Steve Berg (Don’t Worry Darling, Tag).

A Dangerous Obsession Behind the Camera

WHO’S WATCHING follows Caleb, an eccentric musician and aspiring filmmaker who becomes increasingly obsessed with his new coworker, Krista. What begins as an attempt to document her life for his latest film project slowly transforms into something much darker.

As Caleb's fixation grows, the boundaries between filmmaker and subject begin to collapse. His cameras become a tool for manipulation and control, pulling him deeper into a disturbing spiral of surveillance and obsession.

The question becomes unavoidable: who is really watching who?

The film is produced by Tim Kasher, Maher Jafari, Liz Renner, and Josh Ethier.

Kasher added that the film has been more than a decade in the making, evolving through countless drafts before becoming the final story audiences will see.

From Indie Rock to Independent Horror

While many filmmakers enter horror through traditional routes, Kasher's path is a little different. For more than three decades, he has built a career around emotionally charged music, narrative songwriting, and brutally honest examinations of human relationships.

As the frontman of Cursive and co-founder of The Good Life, Kasher helped shape the sound of independent music while developing a reputation for storytelling that feels intimate and uncomfortably honest. Albums including The Ugly Organ, Domestica, and Album of the Year helped establish his unique voice, while his more recent work, including 2024's Devourer, continues that tradition.

Beyond music, Kasher has also worked as a screenwriter, composer, and filmmaker, previously directing the feature No Resolution.
