Welcome back, fear fans! I'm Rhiannon Elizabeth Irons, and I’m taking a brief hiatus from the blood-soaked Australian bush to bring you the first of my infamous Top 13 Lists! Today, we're diving into a franchise that proves greed and genetically engineering apex predators never ends well: "Jurassic Park" and "Jurassic World". These films are packed with spectacular dino-on-human action, but which unlucky victims, killed on-screen only, truly made the biggest, bloodiest impression?
We’re counting down from 13 to the single most unforgettable, glorious piece of prehistoric carnage. We’re only focusing on deaths featured in the films from Jurassic Park (1993) all the way to Jurassic World: Rebirth (2025). Get ready to scream, and as always, Stay Spooky!
The Countdown of Carnage (Movie Kills Only!)
13. Vic Hoskins (Jurassic World, 2015) The Death: Torn apart by the velociraptor, Delta, in the Hammond lab.

Why It Made the List: A satisfying case of poetic justice. Hoskins thought he could control and weaponize the raptors, only to be brutally proven wrong the moment he turned his back.
12. Dennis Nedry (Jurassic Park, 1993) The Death: Nedry, blinded by venom, has his throat ripped out by a Dilophosaurus near his jeep.

Why It Made the List: A truly terrifying, close-quarters ambush. His death is the catalyst for the entire disaster, making it structurally important, even if the scene is quick and messy.
11. Eddie Carr (The Lost World: Jurassic Park, 1997) The Death: Ripped in half by two T-Rexes while trying to save the group in the hanging trailer.
Why It Made the List: A noble sacrifice and a shocking sight. Eddie is literally dismembered, establishing the brutal stakes of the second film immediately.
10. Rainn Delacourt (Jurassic World Dominion, 2022) The Death: A showdown with Owen in the black market leads to having his hands munched on before getting his head bitten off.

Why It Made the List: A great reminder baby dinosaurs are still dinosaurs. Never underestimate the powerful jaws of any predator. Would I have preferred a more spectacular way for this guy to go? Sure, but Rainn got his just deserts.
9. Zara Young (Jurassic World, 2015) The Death: Snatched by a Pteranodon, dropped into the lagoon, and then eaten by the Mosasaurus.

Why It Made the List: Excessive and prolonged. Zara's death is a horrific sequence of cascading terror, making her the most unfortunate victim in the entire franchise. She was also the first female victim.
8. Cooper (Jurassic Park III, 2001) The Death: Snatched from the tarmac by the enormous Spinosaurus.

Why It Made the List: Pure speed and shock. Cooper’s attempt to escape is useless, highlighting the sheer, terrifying scale of the new apex predator introduced in the film.
7. Ken Wheatley (Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, 2018) The Death: He attempts to take a tooth from the sleeping Indoraptor, only for the creature to play dead and tear his arm off before devouring him.

Why It Made the List: A brilliant payoff of arrogance. Wheatley, the hunter, meets a grisly end by underestimating a hyper-intelligent hybrid.
6. Dieter Stark (The Lost World: Jurassic Park, 1997) The Death: Attacked and eaten alive by a swarm of Compys.

Why It Made the List: The fear of being consumed by small, countless creatures. It’s slow, ignominious, and utterly helpless—a genuinely unpleasant way to go.
5. Donald Gennaro (Jurassic Park, 1993) The Death: Eaten off a toilet by the T-Rex.

Why It Made the List: Iconic, humorous, and deeply satisfying. The sight of the greedy lawyer getting his due while sitting on the porcelain throne is peak movie magic.
4. Peter Ludlow (The Lost World: Jurassic Park, 1997) The Death: Cornered and mauled by the juvenile T-Rex in San Diego, followed by the adult T-Rex delivering the final bite.

Why It Made the List: Ludlow’s desperation and final screams while facing his own greed-driven monsters make this a powerful, terrifying end.
3. Jophery Brown / Gate Guard (Jurassic Park, 1993) The Death: Dragged screaming into the raptor cage during the film's opening.
Why It Made the List: The primal scream that set the tone for the entire franchise. This moment instantly showed the audience that these aren't friendly lizards—they are brutal, organized killers.
2. Robert Muldoon (Jurassic Park, 1993) The Death: Ambushed by a raptor while hunting the others, who famously says, "Clever girl."

Why It Made the List: The ultimate hunter is beaten by the ultimate intelligence. Muldoon’s death is sudden, expertly choreographed, and gave us one of the most quotable lines in cinematic history.
The #1 Most Memorable Death:
-
Simon Masrani (Jurassic World, 2015) The Death: Crashing his helicopter into an enclosure while attempting to kill the massive hybrid that his team created.
Why It Made the List: This death is pure spectacle. It’s not just a person dying; it's the destruction of the hubris of the park's owner, delivered in a massive, fiery explosion that is integral to the plot's escalation. It's the moment the Jurassic World chaos truly begins, making it structurally, emotionally, and visually the most memorable death. And if it wasn’t for this death, Zara Young would have survived her experience at the park.

That's the list—now totally focused on the franchise's glorious on-screen carnage! Let me know if you want me to explore any of these deaths in my other series, Kill of the Month!
