The Remake Of David Cronenberg’s RABID Starts Filming In 2018; Soska Sisters Set To Direct

We have known about the upcoming remake of Rabid for some time but now we can get the ball rolling on the details. Check them out below.

In a recent article, THR dropped the info that A71 Entertainment has taken the Canadian rights to the remake and the film will be going into production in 2018.

Michael Walker, Paul Lalonde and John Vidette of Back 40 Pictures are producing the updated film.

“It’s a tremendous honor to be reimagining Rabid,” The Soska sisters said in a statement about their remake. “Ten years into his career, David reimagined The Fly, and it was perhaps his most successful film. Now, 10 years into our directing careers, we take on his 1977 classic”.

Synopsis:

Rose, a young woman who, after an accident leaves her scarred beyond recognition, undergoes a radical untested stem-cell treatment. While turning Rose into the belle of the ball, the experimental transformation comes at a price.

Will the Soska’s live up to the hype? Or has big bad Hollyweird taken the bad-ass out of these two twins? We shall find out more soon.
