We love Disney’s Hocus Pocus. It’s a tradition in the Disturbing household to watch the film every Halloween. When word came our way that a remake was happening, we laughed. A person who isn’t laughing is Bette Midler. Hear what she has to say about the remake below.
Today we can confirm that Midler…is NOT a fan of the remake at all.
“I know it’s cheap. It’s going to be cheap!” Midler told People. “I’m not sure what they’re going to do with my character. My character is very, very broad and I don’t know who they’re going to find to play that.”
When asked if she would return for the right dollar amount, she quickly replied: “No, no, no!”
Even though Midler and her fellow Sanderson Sisters Kathy Najimy and Sarah Jessica Parker are out of the remake, there is still talk that “original cast have expressed interest in taking part of the reboot.”
The Hocus Pocus remake is written by Scarlett Lacey and the original film’s producer David Kirschner (Child’s Playfranchise) has signed on to produce this reboot.
