Video Games: 8 Minutes Of Gameplay That Could Change Gaming Forever… And It’s Lord Of The Rings

The Lord of The Rings MIDDLE-EARTH: SHADOW OF MORDOR looks to be gargantuan in size, scope, and player customization. The game is said to remember encounters with past enemies and tailor the story to your every move. Complete with dynamic environments, SHADOW OF MORDOR has a random enemy system in place so that they will look, sound, and act differently with each successive play through. Dig on the video below, as this tall order has to be seen to be believed. Also, there is some screenshots and a link to download the Palantir app that allows second screen interactions. Set between The Hobbit and The Lord of The Rings, MIDDLE-EARTH: SHADOW OF MORDOR is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Windows PC sometime in 2014.

Today you can experience the first gameplay reveal for action game, Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor. Get an in-depth look at the Nemesis System, a new next-gen feature that remembers players’ every move, shaping unique gameplay experiences and relationships that react and adapt to every player choice.

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Monolith Productions have released the Official Shadow of Mordor Gameplay Walkthrough and three brand-new screenshots.

Also today, the Palantir App is now available to download for free from the App Store. A partnership between Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Wikia, Palantir will sync with game assets and the final game, to reveal additional layers of information, insights and fan-authored content, creating a unique second-screen experience. Enable Palantir’s sync mode while the Gameplay Walkthrough video plays to try it out.

Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor delivers a dynamic game environment where the player orchestrates their personal plan of vengeance as they bend Mordor to their will. The game begins on the night of Sauron’s return to Mordor, as his Black Captains brutally execute the Rangers of the Black Gate. Players become Talion, a ranger who loses his family and everything he holds dear, only to be returned from death by a mysterious Spirit of vengeance. As Talion’s personal vendetta unfolds, players uncover the mystery of the Spirit that compels him, discover the origin of the Rings of Power and confront the ultimate nemesis.

A new story set between the events of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor delivers a vibrant next-gen game world through its Nemesis System. Every enemy players face is a unique individual, differentiated by their personality, strengths and weaknesses. These enemies are shaped by their encounters with the player to create personal archenemies who are unique to every gameplay session. Players must outthink each distinctively different enemy they encounter to infiltrate the ranks and dominate within the dynamic world that remembers and adapts to their actions and choices.
