Robert Kirkman Moves From Zombies To The Devil With New Series On Cinemax

Can Cinemax Really Get Behind A Exorcism Series?

Robert Kirkman set his sights on the exorcism genre when he announced he was creating the Image comic book Outcast. Knowing that anything Kirkman touches turns to gold, Cinemax has made an offer for the rights to Outcast. Read on for the goods.

Outcast_Announcement.608x405THR reports that Cinemax has secured said rights and is going to develop a series.

The series follows a young man, Kyle Barnes, who has been plagued by possession since he was a child. Now an adult, he embarks on a spiritual journey to find answers but what he uncovers could mean the end of life on Earth as we know it.

Given that it is at Cinemax, the boundaries of horror can be pushed a little further than they could at AMC, where The Walking Dead is already making big strides in on-screen televised gore. We hope they do it right and really bring the goods.

Kirkman will pen the script for Outcast.
