All of you regular readers know we are HUGE fans of the film Cabin In The Woods here on TrulyDisturbing and now we have even more reason to be. The movie will be coming to life this year thanks to the folks at Halloween Horror Nights in Orlando Florida. Read on for the details.

Speaking with Zap2It, Drew¬† Goddard layed out the entire concept for the “maze” based on his film. Warning: Spoilers in case you haven’t seen it!

“We are building the cabin completely. You’re going to walk through a forest to get there. You’re going into the cabin. You’re going to go into the cube cells. We’re literally taking everything we can in the film and giving you a kind of best-of montage of the film with this kind of linking story. You’re going to be in the control room when merman attacks.”

The “story” for the maze will see fans taking on the role of a newly hired employee at the facility and will feature videos for patrons in the line that explain the mythology of the facility and along with the years of sacrifices and gods.

But the main thing fans want to see from this adaptation is clearly all of the monsters, and Universal Studios has that covered.

“We’re trying to adapt this film as best as we physically can in the context of what we have. The whole idea of the maze is to have varying creatures in it,”Universal Orlando Entertainment Team member Michael Aiello said. “In the maze, we’ve got many that were in the forefront of a lot of the scenes — the ballerina, the Sugarplum Fairy, the Hell Lord — but also too there are a couple rooms where we’re kind of featuring some of the creatures that were just on the screens in the control room of movie. And then in the finale we’ve got a couple characters that could open up from Halloweens past, our own events, because we were granted amazing permission to be able to include some of our lineage into ‘Cabin’s’ lineage.”

Don’t expect the ending of the maze to reflect the ending of “Cabin” though.

“Our finale for the maze is something that we want guests to be surrounded by,” said Goddard There are so many amazing characters in the movie, we really wanted to end it with trying to surround the guests with as many guests as possible.”

The Cabin in the Woods maze will run exclusively at the Orlando location, with no sister maze running at the Los Angeles park. Fans can order their tickets by clicking here.

We are VERY much looking forward to this!cabin_HHN625.608x308
