For those that don’t know me too well, Christina Ricci is my ultimate Hollywood crush. If I didn’t dig her enough, news has come our way that she will be starring in a new biopic as Lizzie Borden for Lifetime. Check out the details below and pardon me while I wipe my chin form all this drool.
Borden was notorious for killing her dad with 40 whacks with an axe. Of course there needed to be a biopic on her. There are TONS on Manson, Ramirez and Bundy, Borden deserves one and Ricci will do an awesome job.
Per the Wrap, Lifetime has signed Christina Ricci to star in its upcoming film about Borden, who was ultimately acquitted of killing her father and stepmother in the late 1800s. No writer has been selected yet, but Nick Gomez (Drowning Mona, “Burn Notice”) is directing with Sony Pictures Television producing. Judith Verno will executive produce.
A few years back HBO had a miniseries in the works about the Borden case starring Chloe Sevigny, but we haven’t heard much about it lately. We’ll keep our ears open for more on both of these projects and let you know which one will be hitting the airwaves first. Either way, get ready for a woman on a rampage!
