Let us make this clear, this Gothica is not the same as the Halle Berry film Gothika. Got it? Good. Now we can tell you about this horror character mashup and the details behind its pilot below.
Gothica is a project at ABC that culls various literary characters in horror and mashes them into a drama. According to Deadline, Chris Egan and Tom Ellis are the first to be cast as Dorian Gray and Victor Frankenstein, respectively.
Egan (pictured) was seen in Resident Evil: Extinction as “Mikey.”
The site says the story “incorporates the legends of Dracula, Jekyll and Hyde, Frankenstein and Dorian Gray. In this incarnation of the story, written by Matt Lopez, Victor Frankenstein runs a hospital that also does biotech research and believes he may have a way to bring his recently deceased daughter back to life. He was once romantically involved with the show’s lead character, Grace Van Helsing.”
Hopefully this show gets picked up for a full series but as of right now it is just casting for the pilot.
