Leading man found for RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES

The new leading man in the Apes universe has been found and we have the info for you below. Dig it!

zero_darkThe Hollywood Reporter scored the first casting news, as well as some intriguing plot details for the Dawn of The Planet of The Apes sequel.

The site reports Jason Clarke of Zero Dark Thirty and Lawless will star in the film directed by Matt Reeves (Let Me In, Cloverfield).  There’s no word yet as to who he will play.

According to THR, Dawn will pick up 15 years after the events of Rise of the Planet of the Apes.  “One focus is on the group of human scientists who are struggling to survive alone in San Francisco. Another aspect of the story is the struggle of intelligent ape Caesar, played by a returning Andy Serkis, to maintain dominance over his kingdom.”

So it seems the whole “humanity dying due to a virus” angle will still be utilized. More as this develops.
