The teaser trailer for the new film adaptation of Stephen King’s debut novel, CARRIE, has arrived onto the internet for all to enjoy. It’s very short, however it does pack a punch. The destruction appears to be widespread across the town of Chamberlain, the story’s setting. This is more in keeping with the book, whereas Brian DePalma’s celebrated and cherished 1976 film adaptation focused primarily on the destruction of the school where Carrie is humiliated and pushed too far.
The new film stars Chloe Grace Moretz as Carrie White, Julianne Moore as her mother, Margaret White, and Judy Greer as gym teacher, Rita Desjardin. Fot those who may be unaware, the story is about an outcast girl named Carrie who lives with her strict, over-protective, and severely religious mother. Not only must she contend with her abusive mother, but she must deal with the cruel mean girls at school, and struggle with the telekinetic ability she secretly harbors. Once she is the victim of a sadistic prank at the school prom, her full power is unleashed and the entire town is made to pay for her suffering.
