This year Manchester is yet again in store for a host of horror treats when Grimmfest returns for yet another bout of scares, gore and truly unforgettable movies. Running from 4th October to 7th, the festival is the biggest one yet to grace the great city and is set to feature a staggering 20 international festival premieres.
Beginning with a preview night on Wednesday 3rd, Grimmfest will kick off in Stockport’s Plaza Super Cinema with a very special double feature, both being Northern Premieres – Sinister, starring Ethan Hawke, and American Mary, featuring Ginger Snaps actress Katharine Isabelle.
Following a very impressive Wednesday night to whet the appetites of horror fiends here in the UK, the following evening promises to deliver even further as London-based films take centre stage in two massively anticipated entries into our favourite genre. Not only is the Manchester premiere of Cockneys Vs Zombies on offer, along with appearances from director Matthias Hoene and screenwriter James Moran, but also the world premiere of hoodie horror, Comedown, followed by director Menhai Huda making an appearance.
As well as the aforementioned names showing their faces, plenty of other famous individuals will be present, with the likes of Ross Noble (Stitches), Pollyanna McIntosh (The Woman), Patrick Mower (The Devil Rides Out), Reece Shearsmith (The League Of Gentleman) and many more ready to treat those lucky fans in attendance.
