Jody’s Netflix TV Series of the Month – Mystery Science Theater 3000!

Jody here starting a new little thing.  Each month I’ll pick the best TV series that Netflix has to offer so, please enjoy one of my top 10 shows, MST3K!

I used to get up early on Saturday mornings to watch cartoons, and I still do, but then I discovered MYSTERY SCIENCE THEATER 3000 on the Syfy channel, when it was still spelled SciFi channel.  Now that was a long time ago, and a magical one.  If you are unfamiliar with the show.  Joel, and later in the series, Mike are trapped on the Satellite of Love and are forced to watch terrible movies with their robot friends Tom Servo and Crow T. Robot.  The only way they stay sane is to heckle their way through the cheesy movies.  You could watch one many times and still catch something you missed and that’s why it’s my pick for you this awfully hot August.

From left: Crow, Joel, Mike and Servo!

Netflix is good about changing them so you can view quite an impressive number of these, or you can buy them in 4 DVD sets.  You will not be disappointed.  Right now they even have the actual movie that went to theaters, I have wanted to buy it but it can go for about $100.00 bucks!  My other fave right now is SOULTAKER with Joe Estevez.  Here’s a little example of the crew’s humor.

After the screen shows “Starring Joe Estevez”  Crow says, “Does anything really star Joe Estevez?  Isn’t that an oxymoron?”  To which Mike replies under his breath, “He’s some kind of moron.”

Joe Estevez looks pissed, and strung out!

So please take my advice and check this out.  Let me know what your favorite movies and one-liners are!  Enjoy!

My absolute favorite show ever. EVER. I still cannot believe that this show was not an international hit. Yet…Nickelback. Irony is, in fact, kind of a jerk.
