UK horror fans, and more specifically those who love vampires, it seems that Sunday would be the perfect day for you to be in Manchester. Grimm Up North is presenting a very special Vampire Day in honour of the centenary of the legendary Bram Stoker’s death with a great selection of fang-filled horror classics and some special guests.
Taking place at The Dancehouse Theatre on Oxford Road, Manchester, the day will be host to four classic vampire films as well as featuring award-winning gothic writer and poet, Sam Stone, who will be reading from her latest work as well as attending a Q&A session. If that wasn’t enough, a cheap bar is thrown in just to keep those spirits high.
On offer film-wise are four exceptional vampire offerings, each with their own unique selling points but together a formidable quartet in bloodsucking terror.
Beginning the day is new indie film The Harsh Light Of Day, a film that combines elements of vampires and vigilanties to create a truly remarkable movie event. The screening will also be followed by a Q&A with the cast and crew. Following up, an absolute cult classic in the form of the Ingrid Pitt and Peter Cushing-starring The Vampire Lovers, a film that will have horror fans alike undoubtedly reminiscing on the classic days of such icons as the two leads.
Continuing the presentation of such classics, possibly the most iconic of all, Christopher Lee is back on the big screen as Dracula in Dracula: Prince Of Darkness, the follow-up to the 1958 ultimate classic. To top things off and bring a close to the proceedings is Cronos, the first feature film of Guillermo del Toro and a film that reimagines the whole original vampire legend.
What surely is an event not to be missed, Vampire Day offers some of the best films in horror history for vampires and at just £13.50 plus booking fee for tickets get in there quick before they all sell out.
