BACKMASK gains a star.
Marcus Nispel, director of the remakes for THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE and FRIDAY THE 13TH, is helming a new feature titled BACKMASK. It’s about a group of partying teenagers who find an old vinyl record and decide to play it backwards to possibly hear any subliminal messages. They unleash a possibly malevalent spirit that travels from one teen to the next, causing chaos in the midst. The script is written by Kirsten Elms, who is responsible for the upcoming TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE 3D.
Reports have come out that point to Brittany Curran as the star of the film. Some of her most notable work has been in the television series MEN OF A CERTAIN AGE and THE SUITE LIFE OF ZACK AND CODY. She is headlining an upcoming film coming in 2013, CAPTURED.
No other cast members have been signed as of this time. No release date has been set for BACKMASK either.
