This news is both shocking and hard to believe. The Zodiac killer terrorized Northern California in the late 1960’s. Books, magazines, and even films documented the horrible true life slasher film that was the Zodiac killer…but could he still be alive after all? Read on for the details.
The Zodiac Killer Cover-Up, written by former highway patrolman Lyndon Lafferty, alleges infamous serial killer is 91 and living in California.
It’s believed the Zodiac Killer was responsible for five murders in northern California in 1968 and 1969, and earned fame by goading police.
“The police shall never catch me, because I have been too clever for them,” read a letter, supposedly from the killer, sent to the San Francisco Chronicle.
Lafferty claims he knows the killer lives in Solano County, but his leads were burned by “power brokers” in the area during the 70s, according to the LA Times.
He says the Zodiac Killer’s spree was triggered when his wife had an affair with a prominent judge.
“Mind and body ravaged by years of severe alcoholism, his blood-lusting revenge turned him into the most shocking and vicious killer in our 20th century,” Lafferty writes in the book.
“Through his tauntings of the police, his codes, ciphers, and letters, he was on a mission to redeem his shattered ego, to prove that he is better, smarter, and more clever than all the judges and police put together.”
The only ever named suspect, Arthur Leigh Allen, was cleared by DNA testing, and died in 1992.
The case was closed in 2004 with no arrests, but reopened in 2007.
