Stephen King’s The Eyes Of The Dragon Gets SyFy Treatment

I love Stephen King’s works.  They are masterful.  Now The Eyes Of The Dragon is in development at SyFy.  Read on for the details.

Stephen King’s ’80s novel The Eyes of the Dragon is getting the adaptation treatment. Funny, considering we posited in this column – Bring These 5 King Books to the Screen– that now would be an ideal time to tap into the fantasy novel.

According to EW.com, SyFy is developing the project which will either be a made-for-TV movie or a series. Michael Taylor and Jeff Vintar are going to pen the script and executive produce.

The Eyes of the Dragon was originally published in 1987.

From StephenKing.com:

Once upon a time, in the Kingdom of Delain, King Roland is murdered and his son and heir, Peter, is framed for the crime. Peter and his loyal friends must battle an evil wizard and Peter’s usurper brother, Thomas, for the throne. Imprisoned in a tower, Peter conceives an escape plan that will take him years to execute before taking on Flagg, the powerful sorcerer who has masterminded this coup.
