This is like something out of a horror movie. A pool of blood appears and there’s a mystery as to what it’s doing there and more importantly, whose blood it is. Read on for the details.
Police have found no clues about what happened inside a primary school cubby house where more than a litre of human blood was found pooled on the floor.
Teachers made the gruesome find at Riverwood Primary School in Riverswood in Sydney’ s southwest, when they returned from school holidays last Tuesday.
Detective Superintendent Stephen Blackmore said the victim would have needed significant medical treatment to survive after losing such a large amount of blood, the Daily Telegraph reports.
Detective Blackmore said police were stumped as to what happened as there were no blood splatters or trail leading to or from the wooden cubby house.
“We have no clues as to what happened inside or outside the cubby house,” he said.
He said it was a mystery as to how the person got into or out of the school, which is surrounded by a 2m-high fence topped with barbed wire, without leaving a trail.
“It is a mystery how any one could get in or out of the area with such an injury and leave no trail,” he said. Police found no traces of blood on the school’s fence and no weapons or clothes in the area.
Tests revealed the victim was male and was not a convicted criminal.
Superintendent Blackmore said after speaking to maintenance staff, they believe the incident that caused the blood pool happened between January 13 and 29 and are seeking people with information to come forward.
