There is no doubt that Max Brook’s zombie epic, World War Z, could be a three movie event. Yet it seemed that Paramount was not heading in that direction when production started. Things change we suppose. Read the details below and see what we mean.
There have been numerous reports that World War Z is costing Paramount oodles of cash but hell, if the film is a hit, I see multiple sequels in the franchise.
The Los Angeles Times conducted an interview with star Brad Pitt and dropped this little nugget of info:
[Director Marc] Forster and Paramount Pictures each view “World War Z” as a trilogy that would have the grounded, gun-metal realism of, say, Damon’s Jason Bourne series tethered to the unsettling end-times vibe of AMC’s “The Walking Dead.”
The article adds that Pitt plays a United Nations investigator who races around the globe in search of an origin to the zombie outbreak. This goes against what the book’s narrator does but we will let it slide.
The film opens on December 21. Mireille Enos, James Badge Dale, Julia Levy-Boeken, Bryan Cranston, Danielle Kertesz, Matthew Fox and David Morse also star.
